How early should you arrive?

With airport parking, the time before departure includes not only check-in and security but also getting to the car park and from there to the terminal. We cannot give you an exact number of minutes – but we can tell you what to add up.

Your airline sets the baseline

When you need to be at the terminal is decided by your airline – you will find it in your booking or on the airline’s website. Work backwards from that time and add the time parking takes.

Add it up

  1. The airline’s recommended arrival time at the terminal.
  2. Time at the car park (parking, possibly key handover, paperwork).
  3. With a shuttle: waiting and journey time – ask the operator.
  4. At an official car park: walking time to the terminal.
  5. A margin for traffic and the unexpected.

Walking from the official car parks

According to BUD’s indicative figures (not guaranteed journey times):

  • Terminal Parking: less than 1 minute on foot
  • City Break Parking: 2–5 minutes on foot
  • Holiday Parking: 4–9 minutes on foot
  • Smart Parking: 8–10 minutes on foot
  • Relax Parking: 8–10 minutes by shuttle bus

When to allow extra time

  • At peak times (school holidays, long weekends).
  • If you travel with lots of luggage or children.
  • If it is your first time at that car park – the entrance is not always easy to find.
