Official or private car park – which should you choose?
At Budapest Airport you can choose between two main groups: the airport’s own official car parks and the private car parks nearby, mostly in Vecsés. The points below help you decide which suits your trip better.
The official car parks
Budapest Airport offers 5 parking products near the terminal: Terminal, City Break, Holiday, Smart and Relax Parking. According to BUD, you can walk to the terminal from most of them – less than a minute from Terminal Parking and 4–10 minutes from the long-stay car parks – while a shuttle bus runs from Relax Parking. Bookings are made on the official BUD booking site.
The private car parks
Most private car parks are in Vecsés and take passengers to the terminal by shuttle. We currently have 27 verified private car park listings; in 25 of them the operator states that the shuttle is free. Beyond that, services vary considerably: the operator has confirmed covered spaces on 11 listings, staffed security on 9 and EV charging on 5.
Which might suit you when?
- For a short stop or a pick-up: the official car parks closest to the terminal are the simplest, as there is no shuttle.
- For a trip of several days: compare the official long-stay car parks with the private ones – the filters quickly show who offers, for example, covered spaces or parking without handing over your key.
- With lots of luggage or children: think about what is easier – a few minutes’ walk to the terminal or a shuttle from the car park. We only show child seats where the operator has confirmed them.
- On a tight schedule: with a shuttle, allow for waiting and journey time.
What to check in either case
- The price and what it includes.
- Cancellation and change terms.
- What happens if your flight is delayed.
- The key handling rules.
- Space for tall or large vehicles.
